CARRIE SUMMERS
CLINICAL MYOTHERAPIST
I’m Carrie from Carrie on Living. From personal experience, and years of studying and practicing, I know that every body is different and every body needs a little help from time to time, whether that be to compete at their peak physical condition or just to get by on a day-to-day basis.
As an elite gymnast in my earlier days I grew to appreciate the extent that you can push your body to, as well as the toll that injuries and strains can take. Being surrounded by physiotherapists and other practitioners I was always fascinated and amazed by the improvement that I witnessed when clinical knowledge was applied to help mend and maintain my team’s muscle health.
Down the track, and I’ve now obtained a Bachelor Degree in Health Science, specialising in clinical myotherapy, and have been studying and practising clinical myotherapy for 8 years. I treat injuries from extreme sporting accidents to poor work ergonomics (those Health and Safety reps aren’t on your cases for nothing!).

I’ve spent much of my career working closely with chiropractors, remedial masseurs and Traditional Chinese Medicine therapists, and have no intention of that changing with my new clinic. My time working with these professionals was invaluable for expanding my knowledge and techniques, and as a registered clinical myotherapist (MAA) you are guaranteed that my knowledge and skills will continue to expand and grow as new techniques, studies and technology become available.
So why am I still a myo? I love seeing the improvement. There is nothing more satisfying than a genuine thank you from a client for helping to remove some disomfort, or limitation they were experiencing.
